What to Bring to Utah State University 4-H Events

A fun-filled adventure targeted for 7th and 8th grade youth to help them discover the future of 4-H in their lives, as they develop teamwork and leadership skills. Older teens serve as group leaders. Held at Camp Williams in Riverton, Utah.

USU and 4-H are proud to expand the Discovery Summer Science Camps to include awesome year round Aggie Adventures for Kids. These adventures allow kids to discover and explore Utah State University.

On the Snow College campus in Ephraim, 4-H presents its camp for 5th and 6th grade aged youth. Junior Youth Conference is held the last week in June every year. The lessons learned and the friends made here last a lifetime.

Leadermete
Leadermete is a yearly event held for adult and youth volunteers and 4-H partakers to connect, discover, share ideas, and energize their own portions of 4-H. Come participate in a wide variety of helpful workshops and classes! |

4-Hers actually take over the leadership of the House of Representatives in our State capitol in Salt Lake City and go through the Legislative Process from presenting a bill, to committee work, to passing the bill. Held in April for 4-Hers and Youth City Councils.

The National 4-H Conference, held in Maryland, is a full week of learning, participating in focus groups, and meeting new people. Participants come from the 50 states, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and 10 Canadian Provinces.

National 4-H Congress is a unique leadership opportunity for 4-H members, ages 14-19. It focuses on leadership, youth empowerment, community service, career development, and cultural diversity.

National 4-H Week is an annual event designed to promote and celebrate the 4-H movement. The theme for 2008 is “Keeping it Green.” This theme highlights 4-H’s dedication to the environment and science. As part of National 4-H Week the first annual National 4-H Youth Science Day will be held.

County winners participate on the state level in 28 different contests. Winners receive a variety of prizes, including savings bonds, a serger, trips or jackets. Chaperones needed. Held at USU in July.

Once a year for 3 days, youth from around the state gather to work on their leadership skills. Participants take part in different activities that not only strengthen their leadership skills, but are also fun and challenging.

The State Fair has always been a big part of 4-H. Winning projects from county fairs are exhibited at the State Fair for all to see. Youth with entries also receive a complimentary fair pass.
