Aggie Adventures for Kids

Utah State University and Utah 4-H have teamed up to create 4-H Aggie Adventures for Kids, a program offering educational day-camps for children and youth in grades 1-6 in Cache County, held in the ASTE Building at USU.  Please see the campus map to aid you in locating the ASTE Building.

All Aggie Adventure Camps emphasize hands-on learning and explore a variety of subjects including archeology, robotics, art, history, astronomy, and more!

SUMMER 2011 CAMP GUIDE - Cache County

Journey Though The Great Outdoors - June 6-10, 9am- Noon
Strap up your hiking boots we are going on a grand adventure. Don’t be afraid you get your feet wet canoeing. Learning about the birds and bugs and the animals of the wild. Let nature be your tour guild as we explore all her beauties. Grades 1-3

Lights Camera Cooking - June 13-17, 9am- Noon
Become a movie producer - design, film, and edit your own movie. Let your imagination take shape on the big screen with a kid cooking show! Get some great easy recipes and have a blast showing how to cook them. Grades 4-6

Space Adventures - June 20-24, 9am- Noon
This camp will be out of this world as we explore the solar system. Learn about the planets, comets, stars, rockets and about the night sky in the STARLAB mini – Planetarium. Be prepared to encounter some extra- terrestrial life! Grades 1-3

Stepping Into A New World - June 27-July 1, 9am- Noon
Learn a about a new you as you step out of your comfort zone with high adventure challenges. Like team building exercises, canoeing, and rope climbing. Learn more about your surroundings and what nature has to offer. Grades 4-6

A Theatrical Uncover - July 5-8, 9am-Noon
Discover all the tricks of the trade about the theater. Talk with makeup artists, design costume. See each element from the lights, black box, and scenery. Put on your face with a Friday production. Grades 1-3

A Festoon Explosion - July 11-15, 9am- Noon
Let’s put your creativity to work! Learn some life skills like cake decorating, floral arranging, and the art of clowning. Make bags and stuff it with new babysitting activities. Leather working, rope bowls, and more. Grades 4-6

Lego Robotics- WeDo - July 18-22, 9am-Noon
Let your imagination run wild! Design and build Lego WeDo robots and then animate your robot with basic programming. *No pervious robotics experience required. All equipment provided. Grades 1-3

Lego Robotics- NXT - July 25-29, 9am-Noon
Let your imagination take hold! Design and build a Lego Mindstorm NXT robot, then bring it to life with programming to complete mission challenges. Put your skills to the test with robotics competition on the final day. *No pervious robotics experience required. All equipment provided. Grade 4-6
 

GENERAL INFORMATION: All camps are held on the Utah State University campus.

  • CAMP REGISTRATION BEGINS APRIL 18th, 2011!
  • CAMP FEES: Camp fees range from $79.00.
  • Multiple Camp Discount: Sign up for 3 or more camps (per household) and get $5 off each camp fee.
  • Early-Bird Discount: Sign up for 2 or more camps (per household) by May 12th, 2011, and get $10.00 off total camp fees.
